The Kew Society has supported both Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and Richmond Council in objecting to the Sega site redevelopment, on the grounds of the materially adverse impact the tall blocks will have on views from Kew Gardens, Kew Green and the Arcadian Thames towpath.

Richmond Council have published a new Draft Appraisal of the Kew Green Conservation Area to revise the existing Appraisal adopted in 1994. This is part of a borough-wide programme of reviewing existing Conservation Areas to ‘ensure they are reflective of their current character and appearance’.
The aim of the project is to provide a step-free crossing between the eastbound and westbound platforms at Kew Gardens Station. Currently, crossing between platforms requires negotiating the steep steps of the pedestrian footbridge over the line, or the steep steps into and out of a tunnel under it.
