Shades of Green in the heart of Kew
Anna Anderson, Kew Society’s Head Gardener, opens her garden on 6 July through the National Garden Scheme (NGS).

Anna’s garden
Anna’s garden is a shady, north facing garden, divided by willow screens, and has an emphasis on foliage, including ferns, tree ferns, tetrapanax and arisaemas and unusual antipodean plants. It also has a reflecting pool inhabited by newts.

Shades of green
Come and see some beautiful and unusual plants and help raise money for the health charities supported by the NGS. In 2024, the Charity donated a record £3,501,227 from the 2024 garden opening season.

National Garden Scheme 2025
Anna has opened her garden for over 10 years and the garden featured in The Jungle Garden, a book by Philip Oostenbrink, published in 2021.
Unfortunately the garden isn’t big enough to do tea and cakes but there are cafes very close by in the Plaza outside Kew Gardens station.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see how a small plot can be transformed into a secret oasis.
Kew Society is delighted to have volunteer Anna leading our gardening activities with considerable expertise.
