Under new management – the North Road Garden

October cuttings from our head gardener Anna

After John and Daphne Turner retired from gardening Bharti Hindocha has taken the
lead in looking after the little garden in North Road, next to Chris and Chris Motors.

Image of Bharti Hindocha smiling and standing in the gardens holding one white poodle under her arm with another on a lead by her feet.

She’s making a few changes to bring her unique touch to this patch, including introducing four o’clock plants to add vibrant colour at tea time each afternoon. Bharti, we and all who pass this wonderful little space, salute you!

TfL – On the Move
Our gardening efforts at Kew Gardens station were recognised in the October edition of TfL’s staff magazine ‘On the Move’ which goes out to over 20,000 people who work for TfL.

Image of a page from TfL's October 2024 newsletter showing a woman in a high viz jacket holding a watering can and a bearded man in a station master's uniform. Both are tending the flower bed.

The staff at the station are always helpful to the gardening team and it’s great to know our hard work is appreciated.

Thanks to all at TfL for helping us care for Kew. It’s at the heart of what we do.

Cheers, Anna Anderson, Head Gardener, Kew Soc
