Richmond Council to meet parties involved with Pensford Field

As you will probably be aware, Richmond Council has decided to terminate the lease it had granted to Pensford Field Environmental Trust (PFET) with 1 year’s notice. A new lease has been granted from Sept. 2025 to a different charity, Dose of Nature (DoN) which provides nature based theraputic services to people from across the borough, who are referred by their GPs.

The change of lease was decided without appropriate community consultation and understandably, many people are very upset.

Representatives from both charities are to meet with the leader of Richmond Council, Cllr. Gareth Roberts on November 29th.

Kew Society Trustees, with the support of both charities, have also been invited to join this meeting and will also meet each beforehand to gain an full understanding of the facts.

Our remit is to preserve and enhance the amenities and environment of Kew on behalf of the wider community.

Shiona Williams, the Kew Society’s Chair said ” we are doing all we can to try to achieve a positive outcome, which will ensure that the interests of all relevant parties are taken into proper account in how this special place is used”.

You can read more about this in our latest Member’s Newsletter and we will keep you upadated via this website and Shiona’s monthly notes to members.

This is for information only as it is a private meeting between the leader of Richmond Council  Gareth Roberts, and parties involved with Pensford Field in Kew.
