Shout out to Kew’s litter pickers

Hands up if you have a dog who just loves to scavenge for yucky stuff? Well, that’s an accurate description of Dr. Sarah Clarke’s two Labradors! Sarah is the Kew Society’s new Environment Trustee and can often be found out walking her dogs trying to keep them away from the horrible bits and pieces of rubbish they find…..

“Kew’s such a wonderful area with lots of interesting places to walk my dogs. Unfortunately, I need to constantly watch out for “tasty” litter which my dogs always manage to spot before I do”

Thankfully, there seems to be a secret army of litter pickers who clear up in between the work of Richmond Council’s refuse and street cleaning team. Have you seen the litter pickers in action or are you one of them?

More importantly, let’s help to reduce the problem by disposing of our rubbish thoughtfully because if we don’t the urban foxes will make even more of a mess.

Cheers to you.
