Jack spoke about the life and work of Marianne North, the extraordinary Victorian painter who travelled the globe to capture exotic plants and landscapes.  Close to 100 guests gained a fascinating insight into Marianne’s life through her art, archival material and words drawn from her private notebooks and letters.

Marianne North memorably said  ‘Begin now by observing as much as you can of what nature teaches, and you will find happiness in life.’

Those who attended this free event and anyone who would like to mark the end of Jack’s illustrious career are invited to make a donation to Jack’s nominated charity WaterAid.
