Poets and Princesses, Naked Ladies and Rock Gods – A talk by Celia Holman
Wednesday 25th September | 7:00pm - 8:30pm
The National Archives
We are delighted that Celia Holman is entertaining us again with one of her fun and interesting talks, covering this historic stretch of the Thames – the subject of famous paintings and photographs over the years.
‘Arcadian Thames’ traces the footsteps of fashionable and influential Georgians and working watermen, all of whom have left visible traces on our local riverside.
Poets, princes, naked ladies, rock gods, artisans and river folk – all will be making an appearance. The illustrated journey starts from the splendour of Marble Hill House and then follows the river as it meanders towards Richmond and Kew.
Tickets available at the door on the night
Kew Society members £3 – Non-Members £6
Doors open at 6.30pm; talk commences 7pm (ending by 8.15pm)
The Kew Society recommends arriving by public transport, bike or on foot
