Your guide for the afternoon will be Christine Gordon MBE whose engaging storytelling, punctuated by song, promises to bring the past to life in a lively and entertaining way.

Compere Christine Gordon MBE

Christine Gordon MBE is a woman of many talents.  Compere, Jazz Singer and Care-worker for Crossroads Care Richmond and Kingston, brings a life-time of entertainment experience to our bus tour.  Having lived, worked and performed in venues across the Middle East, Europe and the UK, Christine will fill our cultural tour with the words and song of the historical figures, actors, artists, musicians and authors who have lived along the route.  In 1999 Christine established Bahrain’s first fully inclusive nursery school for children of all abilities.  Her work was recognised in the 2014 Honours List.

We are delighted that Kew Society Member and Blue Plaque Guide, Helen Bartolome has provided detailed commentary notes for Christine to bring to life.

We are grateful to Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill CBE who has kindly made his Routemaster Bus available to us.

All profits from the tour will be applied to the “Safe and Easy Access Kew” Initiative led by the Kew Society.

We can’t wait to welcome you on board!
