Changes to household waste collections take effect from 31st March 2026
New guidance for recycling in Kew
The government’s ‘simpler recycling’ legislation will take effect from March 31st..and the rules for what can be recycled in Richmond will change from that time.
The new rules are:
-
- Cartons – milk, soups, fruit juices etc – should now be flattened and put into the black box…NOT the blue box, which should be reserved for paper and card.
- Aluminium tubes – tomato paste, mayonnaise etc and plastic tubes, including toothpaste tubes – can also go into the black box.
