Change of Use from office to residential (Richmond Council reference 18/1765/GPD15)

Update 08/07/2018

The applicant for this change of use has now withdrawn the application.

Update 10/06/2018

Though ir seems there is not much the Council can do to stop this change of use, we have recorded a general observation to say the permitted development rights for this change of use represent poor national policy, failing to allow local decision making based in knowledge of the local area, including the need to maintain local employment opportunities. We also questioned  the extra pressure on parking in this busy part of Kew.

We are delighted to be joining the The Richmond Local History Society to present this talk by Stephen Bartlett where he tells the story of Royston House – one of the grand “lost houses” of Kew Road – and of its various occupants. The talk focuses on a fascinating area and epoch in the local history of Kew up to World War I, touching on Lichfield Road and neighbouring roads and on the builders of this part of the former Selwyn estate, who created the streetscapes we are familiar with today.

Click here for directions to Duke Street Church.

This event is free to members of both societies.
