From 1 November until 29 February 2012 a trial is taking place at Heathrow of the use of twin landing, i.e. using both runways at the same time. Up until the trial there was always an alternation from one runway to the other at 3pm to give residents a respite from the noise. Richmond Council has set up a survey for residents to submit their views, these will be used in representations made by them to BAA.
